- Everyone knows that a cute girl in a gaming shop is kind of like a black bear in a forest - you're fine admiring her up close, but if you get up close you're in terrible danger. Also she doesn't appreciate you drooling on her.

The Big Cheese won the bonus points for last week's comment section, congratulations to him for making my smile. I've decided to reward our winners with a free sketch of their choosing, so Cheesy, you can either PM me or post a message describing what you want me to draw and I'll post it up here on Friday along with the next comic. The winner of today's comment challenge will receive the same prize.

There's something special a gamer girls. I once went on a date with a girl that I was only moderately bothered about until I heard her ringtone: the Mario Bros theme. In was in that moment that I realised I'd struck gold. To this day she's the only girl I've dated with whom I can discuss plot points from Final Fantasy games. So today's question: how many of you have come across gamer girls? Are you one yourself? What reaction do you receive/give in these kinds of situations? Best comment wins a sketch.

The Mixtape: GEM Tang - Those of you who know me well will know my love for Hong Kong and for Chinese people - I lived there from 2007-2009 and I'm going back later this year. My iPod is full of Cantopop (pop music sung in Cantonese) and to introduce our new character I thought I'd also introduce you to the wonders of GEM Tang. Just because it's not in English doesn't mean you can't enjoy an epic song!

I'm not anywhere near what you'd call "hardcore," but I am something of a gamer girl, myself. The initial reaction most people have to that depends on gender, I've found. All the guys I've met have been pleasantly surprised, some to the point of hugging, and were happy to talk gameplay and plot details with me. We generally end up being friends.

Girls have one of two reactions; confusion and raised eyebrows, followed by either shunning or polite disinterest in your general person, or an attempt at civil conversation on the topic, overshadowed by excitement over the fact that AAAAAHH, I'M NOT ALOOOOONE!!!!

When I do find one of these girls, it's BFF. Right away. Fortunately, my social circle is nerdy enough to include several :P

Believe it or not there are three open gamer girls at my high school of 400, unfortunately one of them is my sister.

Generally when I find a gamer girl, as rare as that is, I usually freeze in place an say something along the lines of "Oh my god, I think I love you." and then proceed to awkwardly hug her, followed by a silence in which one or both of us walk away.

Just my sister...

I bet, though, that it's like Jeremy Clarkson's reaction when Cameron Diaz started talking about car engine parts.

One of my best friends is a gamer girl. We regularly discuss the finer points of Pokemon (which one of us can kick the others ass), which Legend of Zelda game is the best (me: GBA Link to the Past, her: N64 Ocarina of Time), and which of our favorite games of all time is better (me: Morrowind, her: Chrono Trigger). Her geekery is my favorite thing about her; it's just so sad that she lives so far away.

There are quite a few at the school where I go to whose games include Dead Space and Mass Effect.I don't find it much of a surprise as I might have done Humpty-seven years ago as we do now live in the age where nearly EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD is a gamer.

I consider myself a gamer girl. Actually, just last night my brother was talking to a friend of his about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. His friend was shocked when I joined the conversation, and he learned that I play it.
Of course I also love games like Kotor, Mass Effect (just finished the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC last night), Halo, Modern Warfare, and Fallout. To name a few.

I actually have a friend that's a gamer girl. She kicks butt at Pokemon, and I have lost to her like, 1,000,000 times. Too bad she doesn't play Halo. OOH!!! TK!!! I love Totally Kotor! You should have Runt and/or Candy star in this comic as background extras or something.
