- This page comes as a kind of spiritual sequel to this page, as both show a significant amount of time, and I try to have a bit of fun in each panel instead of worrying too much about story.

I was going to draw an entirely different comic for today. As I explain this, let me talk you through how I draw a strip. First, I draw the background. It took me about two hours to draw one on Friday, and to be honest, it looked pretty good. I then import my character models and start positioning them. After that comes facial expressions and finally, text.

Well, on Friday, I'd just about got the models positioned when my computer crashed. I'd not been smart enough to save, so it was all gone. Because that strip took a lot of effort, I decided to save it for later and instead figured I'd move on with the storyline. I came up with the idea for today's page instead, deliberately designing one that would be fairly quick to draw - no camera movement, and a simple background. I'm fairly glad actually, as doing it this way means ploughing into the next plot point quicker than I was planning, and I could do with the motivation.

My favourite part of today's comic? Winston in panel two. This was a joke that was in the comic I was drawing on Friday, and I loved the way his face looked so much that I moved the joke into today's strip. Yet again Winston manages to steal the spotlight from the other characters, but I'm finding it difficult to stop him. The boy's just got too much personality.

I know that horrible "All my work is gone NOOOOO!!!" feeling. I found the only cure is to compulsively save after every paragraph or section or whatever is complete. I still hate losing five minutes work though.
